2024 was another great year for the Texas 3-Gun Championship! This year’s event featured 10 natural terrain stages in the beautiful Texas hill country near Burnet, TX. The stages are designed to be challenging to the most experienced and talented shooters in the country, but also be fun and interesting for newer shooters.
Match Director Aaron Hayes had the following to say about this year’s match.
“The match was sold out at 260 shooters, not including staff. The stages this year offered a wide variety of challenges, with some stages requiring flat out speed, and others demanding a high level of precision and technical shooting skill, including rifle targets out to 640 yards in very difficult environmental conditions.”

“The Texas 3Gun Championship is a 16.5 hour drive for me, however, Aaron, Garrison, and Jeremy never disappoint and the 2024 match was no different. The natural terrain of the facility is an all time favorite and this year the stages were fun and fast yet challenging with the perfect amount of long range mixed in.”
Nate placed 2nd Overall and 3rd in Open Division in this match.

“The Texas 3 Gun Championship has been one of the most successful 3-Gun Matches in the country for many years. Hosted in the Texas hill country at the Reveille Peak Ranch near Burnet TX the match features great natural terrain stage locations and the match staff utilize this to great effect. Each year 8-9 of the 10 stages will be primarily natural terrain with 1-2 in large and often multi-bay formats. One of the other reasons for the success of the match is the staff itself. The MD has made it a priority to treat the staff well and as a result they attract and retain great RO's every year. Stage design incorporates every variety of challenges the sport of 3-Gun has to offer while keeping the stages fun and also manageable by competitors with of varying skill levels. Some of the top companies in the shooting world support the match every year including the title sponsor Magpul. Other match sponsors include Vortex Optics, American Defense MFG, Keltec, Hayes Custom Guns, Benelli and many more so the awards are always a nice perk. Competitors get a nice half day schedule which allows for some relaxing down time and are also are served lunch Friday and Saturday and a delicious BBQ dinner on Sunday before awards. The overall experience of this match shows that the staff truly put the competitor’s enjoyment and experience first. This is an amazing match which I believe is a “Must Attend Match” for anyone who loves shooting sports and a great competition.”
